Norcross, GA - 2/26/2009 -- Micromeritics Analytical Services (MAS) is pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at the upcoming Pittcon to be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois on March 8-13. The exhibit, located in booth 1169, will be staffed by qualified, technical personnel who will be happy to discuss your unique application.

Micromeritics Analytical Services will be highlighting several new testing capabilities at the exposition. These include nanoparticle size analysis using photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) or Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), dynamic vapor sorption (DVS), and inverse gas chromatography (IGC).

PCS is a very common technique used to determine the particle size of nanoparticles in colloidal suspension or emulsion. This same technique can also be used to determine the zeta potential or electrophoretic mobility of a solution.

DVS is commonly used to determine the adsorption of water vapor at varying levels of humidity. Many other liquid vapor isotherms can be measured using this thermo-gravimetric technique.

IGC is similar to gas chromatography, except the sample is in the column through which the probe gases flow. The technique provides information about the surface energy of the sample material relative to the specific analysis gases.
