Micromeritics Analytical Services expands capabilities to include particulate concentration using the light obscuration technique

Micromeritics Analytical Services now performs particulate count and concentration of solutions in accordance with USP methods <788> and <789>.

Norcross, GA - 1/21/2010 -- In addition to particulate count and concentration, particle size analysis can be performed on materials ranging from 0.5 – 400 micrometers. The MAS utilizes a new state-of-the-art light obscuration instrument that is compatible with most solvents, features single particle resolution, and has the sensitivity to detect ppb levels of contaminants in most cases.

“The addition of these capabilities to measure particle size and particulate concentration is another step toward our goal of providing to our customers the widest array of particle characterization techniques from a single laboratory,” says Greg Thiele of Micromeritics Analytical Services. “Customers have been asking us to help them with these types of measurements, and we are responding to their needs.”

Micromeritics Analytical Services offers customers a choice of eleven different analytical techniques and dozens of methods for measuring particle size, each with specific advantages in targeted applications and industries.
